About Us
The North Star Neighborhood (formally the McClellan Park Neighborhood) is located on the East Side of Madison Wisconsin. We are East of Interstate 90, North of Cottage Grove Road, West of Sprecher Road, and South of Milwaukee Street. Our neighborhood includes the Grandview Commons, Covered Bridge, Birchwood Ridge, Rustic Acres, and Jubilee subdivisions. Originally established on September 22, 2004 as the McClellan Park Neighborhood Association, we've updated our name on April 11,. 2018 to the North Star Neighborhood Association.
The mission of the North Star Neighborhood Association is to:
- Represent the interests of the neighborhood before the Madison Common Council, the Dane County Board and all appropriate governmental agencies;
- Create a cohesive community atmosphere and foster cooperation and social harmony among the various subdivisions on issues affecting the neighborhood;
- Alert members to emerging neighborhood issues;
- Disseminate information about the neighborhood to its members;
- Promote community safety;
- Protect and enhance the residential character of the area;
- Promote interest and participation in neighborhood planning; and
- Determine possible approaches or solutions to problems within the neighborhood.
The North Star Neighborhood Association is not affiliated with any homeowners or condo association, or any other association or group. The association is open to all residents, 18 and over, of the North Star Neighborhood.
The board generally meets the second Tuesday of each month at the Great Dane. Meetings are held in the banquet rooms behind the bar on the second floor. Members are welcome to attend any monthly meeting, please send us a message to confirm meeting dates and times.
